In May 2025 I met Yo Shavit, who was work­ing on na­tional se­cu­rity policy at OpenAI and was think­ing about how to pre­pare for a fu­ture in which mod­els could se­ri­ously as­sist at­tack­ers in cre­at­ing pan­demics.
